Historic Knitwear
Historic Knitwear
Knitting has long played an important role in the production of historical garments and headwear.
History and Hats offers historic knitwear in collaboration with Ewa Jespersson, a skilled knitter and milliner working with traditional techniques. Nalbound (needle-bound) items can also be produced.
All pieces are hand-knitted in wool and based on historical sources and period forms. Items are made to order, allowing for careful work and consistent finishing throughout the process.
The result is practical, historically grounded knitwear suitable for reenactment, living history and historical dress.
Selected items are available through the webshop. For commissions, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
